Bats – Hit Crazy

I’m not really sure how I missed out on the Bats.

A combination of the Bats being NFA (Not From Auckland) and the beginnings of the Lost Years.

Either way, I saw them recently at Miaow which was fun on a school night and then bumped into a couple of tracks at the See Me Go night at San Fran.

These were the two Bats’ songs from that night that gave me a serious case of ear worm.

Saturday Night – San Fran Home

As you may have noticed from the other recent posts (OK, the other only posts), Saturday night was not a stay at home night.

(Stay with me just a little longer.)

Yes, it was See Me Go night at San Fran playing the best of Kiwi must from 1977 to 1985.

And there would have been a riot if this song hadn’t been played.  As it was, some of us got so excited that it almost caused a riot but luckily Wellington has the friendliest punks in the world and they are very well educated, knowing all the lyrics to this old classics.

This was the Suburban Reptiles last hurrah but what a song to do it on.  It would of course be appropriate in a completely eponymous manner to note that the soon to be Swingers would emerge from this version of the Suburban Reptiles and hence the name of this blog owes a debt of gratitude to them for that.

It doesn’t have to be Saturday night to enjoy this.
